For a rally making a comeback (after two-years absence) in the middle of summer, things did not look promising during the week leading up to this event. Some parts of the country were feet deep in flood water and the long-term forecast was for heavy rain and winds and the thought of spending a day on a wind-swept airfield in those conditions did not appeal. However, by Friday, the forecast had been "watered-down" but we set off on the day in almost continual rain.
