Hi found this site a while back and lost the link, back again now. I'm rebuilding RML 2477 and in need of many parts. Unfortuntly none of the parts I eed are in the list, but I'd guess the front wheel hub cover on a RML would be similar to other bus wheel hubs. I also need many other parts for my project, so drop me a line jayday01atbedlam@aol.com if you have any parts for sale, the half shafts will be a challenge.

1545 13/5/08 - Ian C. Catlin, horsham, west sussex My 2nd visit, original ref.327. Thank you again! I originally wrote that I used to go to school on an red 'T' class on the 234a route from Hackbridge in 1948. In fact I now dicover from a photograph that it was a LTL,in fact, LT 1070. My dream came true on the 7th Sept. I rode on T792 for an hour from Dorking to Shere and back. Wow, what memories.Beautifully preserved Green T792 in the flesh! Anyone who would like a top quality photo of it for free, please send an e-mail request, through the Society's system.

Hi, I ran out of Leyton shed [T] from 1969 to 1975 on the 38, 69,262,55,48,230 and of course the 236. My wife June was my clippe who died 26 years ago.On your site about your RFs in preservation the photo of RF 433 taken on the 11-1-70 at Highbury Grove she is looking out of the nearside front window on our Sunday on the 210s so I must have been at the wheel. I have had a copy of the photo for years and only just noticed her, we also did the last 236 home on the 16-4-71 which I did not know a the time was the last crew RF in service before it went OMO with SMs the following day My hobby is model buses in LT of which I do have about 400,and plus just about every book that has been printed on LT.I did a few years on the EASTERN NATIONALs 251 out of Wood Green, I also lived in Stantonbury in Milton Keynes so I know the A5 up past your village quite well, its a good site keeps up our intrest n the good old bus days when London was a nice place to live Regards Mick Parsons.

Really interesting site. Please could some one advise me on how to find an old 1955 to 1967 ish bus for my friend to drive as a special treat. He already drives a bus for a company but of course they are modern. He has a card and a psv licence. We live Oxfordshire and would like to travel to cambridge on the old bus. Thank you!

I use the site regularly. It's excellent. You do however have two RMs listed showing the same reg number UYJ 654. I think I am right in saying that it is 1224 not 601 that carries this plate.
Many thanks - now corrected

An interesting web site which I enjoyed. Some of the vehicles featured brought back memories for a former bus and tram spotter of the late 40s/early 50s, who lived in Croydon at the time.

My Dad was an apprentice at Dunton Green bus garage for many years eventually running the garage in the 90s before it closed down. His original boss used to own an RT bus that we used to go to bus shows on as a kid. I am in my late 20s but still love the old buses. If anyone knows of a RF vehicle for sale I would certainly love to know. My father is a good man and it his dream to own one as he spent many years on them and even had one as his wedding vehicle (I would love to make it happen for him). He retired from the garages but now drives for National Express (He cannot keep away!)

Just like looking at old buses. Have been to Commercial Vehicle Museum at Leyland, Ipswich Transport Museum, National Tram Museum at Crich, bus museum at Carlton Coalville and London Transport Museum in London which I was very disappointed with.

Thank you! A truly inspiring and most interesting site, especially to an oldie like me. I used to go to school on an red 'T' class 14T12 on the 234a route from Hackbridge in 1948. None saved I believe, but I would love to see the preserved Green T792 in the flesh,(one of the beautiful 15T13's, a type which I would have bought had I had the money back in the 60's).

Really good to see real London buses, the RT and the RF. Personally although I am made keen on the wartime Utility vehicles, I think that the RT and RF were the best London buses ever. I know that RM owners will be after me, but I have to be honest.

Really enjoyed looking around the site, having bookmarked it ages ago and never got round to it. One little piece of info on the page "The camera never lies part 2 - As a Windsor lad I recall that the 704 and 705 did go over the Eton bridge before it was closed in the mid-60's. Best wishes for all the hard work preserving vehicles which remain dear to my heart
316 1647 23/2/08 - John Tovey, Pompano Beach, Florida U.S.A.
Great web site, I used to drive for L.T. at HW garage from 1969 - 1980. with a short stint at HD (about a year) I learn't to drive on a RTW then went on to RT,RML, SM, SMS, DMS, M . For a time, I was the youngest Inspector at L.T. (22years old). But I went back to my first love of driving. I just love the RT, it was the best ever. Thanks for the web site, keep up the great work.

Hi In my rescued collection I've found (re-found) three photos of LUC 212 and 213. They are taken in winter sunshine in Dec 1986. If anyone would be interested I'd be glad to e-mail a copy. Regards Graham

313 2149 30/12/07 - Peter Johnston, St.Columb Major, Cornwall
how nice to see the pictures of RT 1784 Surely the RT is the iconic London Bus, not the RM as most writers leed you to believe. congrats, and keep up the good work.
